INSTRUCTIONS
 

WHY THIS TRAINING? - This on-line training program is part of the required training to become a SAY
soccer official.  The intent of this training is to provide you with the basic information about the Laws of the Game and some useful additional
information. This will also allow for more focused training during the classroom training. It will also shorten the number of classroom hours required. Finally, it is hoped that this training will be more fun and enjoyable to learn the facts of the Laws of the Game.

MATERIAL & QUIZ - You can work through each law in any order you want but the order they are listed is the recommended order. After each section there will be a quiz to assure that you understand the information sufficiently to proceed to the next section. The quiz is not recorded and no one will know how well or how poorly you did on the quiz.  If you miss a question on the quiz, you will given the correct information.

WHEN DO YOU PERFORM THIS TRAINING? - You need to complete all this on-line training prior to the first in-class
clinic.  It may take you several hours to complete this training so do not wait until the last minute.

WHY DO I NEED TO TAKE CLASSROOM TRAINING? - While this training is very effective for the simple and straightforward laws, some of the laws are more complex and require more demonstration, practical application, and examples to fully understand prior to going out on the field for the first time.

WHAT IF I HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE MATERIAL AND CANNOT COMPLETE IT IN TIME? - If you can not complete the training prior to the first class and have given yourself enough time and effort, call your local referee representative for further assistance and recommendations on next steps.

CAN I STOP AND COME BACK LATER TO RESTART THIS TRAINING? - Absolutely! This entire package will take you several hours to successfully complete. The program is wide open and you can come back later and look at any of the sections again for a review or just for fun.
